Key Responsibilities
- Review and prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns (Forms 1040, 1120, 1065, 1041, etc.)
- Lead the preparation and review of compiled and reviewed financial statements
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff and provide on-the-job training
- Maintain and reconcile general ledgers and financial records for multiple clients
- Analyze financial data and assist clients with budgeting, cash flow, and tax planning
- Research complex tax issues and apply current federal and state tax laws
- Assist with audits, including planning and fieldwork (if applicable)
- Communicate directly with clients regarding financial reporting, compliance, and strategic advisory services
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA license (required or in final stages of completion)
- 3-5 years of experience in public accounting, preferably in a client-facing role
- Strong proficiency in tax software (e.g., UltraTax, Lacerte, ProSystem fx) and accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel)
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines across various client accounts
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with high-net-worth individuals, small to mid-sized businesses, and trust/estate accounting
- Familiarity with cloud-based tools (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks Online, CCH Axcess)
- Background in audit, assurance, or business advisory a plus
$150k base plus incentive in Brighton
