The Associate Portfolio Manager supports our dynamic investment team in all aspects of the portfolio-related process. This role works closely with other team members in supporting our wealth management advisors, monitoring client portfolios, creating deliverables, and executing trading operations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities and the capacity to manage multiple investment portfolios and projects in a team environment. This role reports to the Director of Portfolio Management.
Responsibilities:
- Support portfolio management team by maintaining accurate client portfolios, monitoring liquidity needs, adhering to client-specific restrictions, and ensuring positioning is aligned with investment objectives
- Prepare regular exposure and risk reports, conduct portfolio reviews, rebalance portfolios, generate proposals, and monitor investment model changes across multiple client accounts for review by portfolio management and advisors
- Assist in the analysis of securities, account transitions, and cash flow activities, while helping to identify potentional investment risks and propose risk mitigation measures to management
- Apply economic and market trends and company-specific financial data to assist portfolio management team with buying and selling of stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ETFs, and other investment vehicles
- Support the implementation of investment strategies to transition new and existing clients to the Firm’s investment strategy
- Execute daily, monthly, and annual trading operation processes including data integrity maintenance, reconciliation, and troubleshooting of trade settlement services
- Resolve trade errors with custodians and internal teams to ensure best execution of complex trades
- Reconcile and maintain client investment records, including cost basis adjustments and application of appropriate corporate actions providing timely updates to team and management
- Collaborate with various teams to assist in the development and improvement of portfolio management processes
- Respond to inquiries and requests from portfolio management and advisors in a timely and professional manner ensuring all inquiries and requests are thoroughly addressed, and seek support from management as necessary
- Perform other related duties and projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Finance, Economics, etc.)
- Must have or obtain FINRA Series 65 license within 90 days of hire
- 2+ years of experience in the financial services, investments, or portfolio management industries
Location:
Richmond, VA – This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement (three days onsite, two days remote) once in-office training is complete and approved by position's manager.
