ommunity Financial Services Group, LLC (CFSG) is the trust and investment affiliate of the National Bank of Middlebury and Community National Bank. The Company, which manages over $1.5 billion in VT, NH, and over 40 other states, is seeking a qualified individual with solid financial planning, wealth management, and sales experience for the position of Wealth Advisor in the Middlebury market area. The primary responsibilities are:
- Work alongside a Senior Wealth Advisor to manage and grow an existing book of business within the Addison County, Vermont region.
- Become a primary point of contact for our owner-bank employees to refer individuals and businesses in need of financial services.
- Provide comprehensive financial planning and wealth management services for clients using a dynamic planning and investment approach of advisory, trust, and brokerage solutions serving in a fiduciary capacity. Includes providing advice in the areas of estate planning, tax planning, and investment management to provide a holistic approach to financial and retirement planning.
- Develop new business and grow AUM through prospecting strategies including generating referrals via internal and external partners and centers of influence, education events, and expanding upon existing client relationships.
- Administer comprehensive and substantive ongoing client meetings to maintain and build upon existing relationships while providing financial planning solutions and advice at all stages of a client's life.
- Assist clients in defining investment goals, risk tolerance, and time horizon to establish an appropriate investment strategy, portfolio design, and asset allocation. Includes use of stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ETF's, annuities and insurance products. Investment research and portfolio strategies are provided by CFSG.
- Work with Clients and accounts of all types including individuals, revocable and irrevocable trusts, individual retirement accounts, non-profit organizations, corporations, and employer sponsored benefit plans.
- Serve as corporate trustee and/or executor when client relationships and needs dictate.
- The position is primarily office-based with flexibility for remote work.
Required and Desired Attributes:
- Series 7 Registration and Series 66 (or Series 63 and 65) required.
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) designation highly desired.
- At least five years of client-facing financial planning and investment management experience required.
- Experience using Financial Planning software (MoneyGuide, RightCapital, etc.) required.
- Experience with fiduciary trust accounts and familiarity with trust accounts desired.
- Must be self-motivated, hardworking and a self-starter who is able to thrive in the ever-changing world of planning and investment management.
- Strong understanding of economic and market principles, and must be able to communicate complex strategies and planning ideas to clients in a simplified and clear manner.
- Comfortable with meeting in-person with clients and engaging them in meaningful planning and investment management conversations with confidence.
- Must be detail oriented with the ability to set and achieve daily and weekly task goals.
- Strong work ethic with exceptional time and calendar management skills.
- Willingness to travel by personal vehicle (mileage reimbursement provided) in local territory for client meetings and new business development.
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- Strong administration and client facing communication skills.
- Focus on delivering outstanding client services.
