Position Summary
The Senior Financial Planner is responsible for leading client engagements, delivering comprehensive financial planning solutions, and contributing to the firm’s strategic goals. This role requires deep technical expertise, exceptional client relationship management skills, and the ability to provide leadership within the advisory team. The Senior Financial Planner will serve as the primary point of contact for high-value relationships and help shape the firm’s direction through strategic contributions.
Client Responsibilities
· Lead the drafting, delivery, and implementation of complex financial plans.
· Perform asset allocation analysis and custom financial decision modeling for clients.
· Prepare presentations and other materials necessary for client meetings.
· Serve as the primary relationship manager, leading client meetings and responding to complex inquiries.
· Oversee financial plan execution in collaboration with the Investment Management Team and other internal resources.
· Take the lead on client reviews, ensuring proactive planning and exceptional service delivery.
Firm Responsibilities
· Support and embody the firm’s mission, vision, and strategic objectives.
· Contribute to the refinement and improvement of the firm’s planning methodology and processes.
· Represent the firm in professional settings and uphold its reputation for excellence.
· Engage in teamwork and integrate into the firm’s collaborative culture.
Growth Responsibilities
· Partner with other Financial Advisors to drive business development.
· Contribute to marketing and outreach initiatives to attract ideal clients.
· Attend and contribute to business development meetings.
· Support the referral stream through exceptional client service.
Qualifications
· Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s degree; CFP® certification required. Series 65 preferred.
· Experience: Seven or more years in financial planning or wealth management, with a proven track record in client leadership.
· Skills Required:
o Mastery of the financial planning process.
o Advanced technical expertise in planning areas such as investments, budgeting, taxes, risk management, and estate planning.
o Expert use of technology and planning tools utilized by the firm.
o Strong project management and organizational abilities.
o Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Location: On site in New Haven office (45 work from home days offered a year)
Salary: 100-125k base
