Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Paraplanner, based in Flower Mound, TX. The Paraplanner will support our advisors in delivering high-quality financial planning, investment management, and client service. This role combines technical planning support, portfolio management assistance, and direct client interaction. The paraplanner will independently conduct review meetings for assigned clients and provide proactive services support across all client tiers.
Principal Responsibilities
Financial Planning Support
- Gather, review, and organize client financial, legal, and investment documents
- Input and maintain client data in financial planning software
- Prepare financial statements, projections, and planning analyses
- Identify planning gaps and summarize findings for advisors
- Assist with planning recommendations related to retirement, investments, taxes, estate, and insurance
Investment & Portfolio Support
- Assist with portfolio construction, maintenance, and rebalancing based on advisor criteria
- Maintain accurate client cost basis and tax lot data
- Prepare and distribute monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc performance reports
- Maintain model portfolio performance data
- Conduct investment research and maintain recommended security lists
- Place trades through the firm's trading platform as directed
Client Service & Meetings
- Serve as primary service contact for assigned clients
- Independently conduct review meetings for assigned clients
- Support advisors in preparation for higher-tier client meetings
- Schedule, plan, and document client meetings using CRM software
- Respond promptly to client questions and concerns
- Make proactive and "no contact" service calls for clients across all tiers
- Complete post-meeting follow-up and implementation tasks
Communications, Operations & Compliance
- Draft client communications and prepare meeting materials
- Maintain accurate, organized client records in accordance with compliance requirements
- Track and follow up on outstanding transactions and paperwork
- Coordinate with custodians, broker-dealers, and affiliated professionals as needed
Qualifications
- BA or BS preferred
- Minimum of three years client-facing experience in the investment/insurance industry
- FINRA Series 7 registration, along with 63 & 65 or 66
- Proficiency with computer programs, including Microsoft Office Suite, CRM software, and Financial Planning software
- Excellent people skills, including active listening, effective communication, and professional and knowledgeable demeanor.
- Ability to establish rapport with clients and coworkers
- Sophisticated organizational skills with both physical resources (e.g., files, manuals, papers) and nonphysical resources (e.g., calendars, appointments, events, client contact records, images)
