Summary of the Role
The Wealth Advisor (“WA”) serves as the primary point of contact for Calamos Wealth Management (“CWM) clients and acts as a liaison between each client and the Portfolio Management team and the Advanced Wealth Planning & Strategies team. The WA coordinates the delivery of all Wealth Management services and strives to build long-term, trusting, and professional relationships with clients and their advisors. The WA will focus on building existing client relationships as well as looking for new client opportunities and delivering on the full suite of investments and planning services offered by CWM.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provides superior communication and service to clients, ensuring a continual interaction that promotes trust and client retention.
- Cultivates, manages, and builds long-term, trusting, and professional relationships with Wealth Management clients, serving as their primary point of contact.
- Contributes positively to the Wealth Management assets under management through client retention and accumulation of additional assets from existing clients.
- Evaluates, discusses, and documents each client’s investment objectives, goals, expectations, and risk tolerance.
- Develops and monitors asset allocation, financial strategies and investment policies that meet client objectives.
- Proactively communicates Calamos’ market outlook and expectations for our strategies.
- Prepares and presents investment recommendations via phone or in person.
- Skillfully communicates the firm’s investment philosophy and process to potential investors and existing clients.
- Approximately 25% of time will be spent on travel to visit clients and prospects.
- Develops and maintains referral opportunities by serving as a resource to client’s other advisors such as attorneys and CPAs.
- Reports activities, opportunities, and accomplishments on a regular basis within the CRM system.
- Attends seminars and client functions to promote the firm’s capabilities.
- Develops innovative ideas for proactive business development in the high-net-worth category.
- Participates in industry groups and non-profit events to expand networking opportunities and increase firm visibility.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is required in business or other related discipline. MBA preferred.
- Series 65 license required. CFP or other related certification preferred.
- 10+ years investment industry experience with a focus in the high-net-worth marketplace.
- Must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills and excellent client service aptitude and attitude. Including excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Must have comprehensive industry and product knowledge.
- Must have ability to counsel/advise sophisticated investors in all areas of high-net-worth services.
- Must be able to work well in a team environment with the ability to learn new tasks quickly.
- PC Skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and CRM and client account database applications.
- Open location to Chicago or NY office.
Compensation Disclosure
The compensation for this role takes into account various factors, including work location, individual skill set, relevant experience, and other business needs. The estimated base salary range for this position is $115,000- $140,000. Additionally, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and this position may be eligible for quarterly discretionary bonus payments.
