Key Responsibilities
- Manage cross-functional relationships with client associates, fund administrators, private investment funds, and custodians to ensure seamless coordination and execution
- Assist with the investment onboarding process by supporting client associates in preparing and reviewing subscription documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness prior to fund closing
- Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for platforms related to Private Investment onboarding, fund portals, and custodians
- Knowledge of how to process wires for investments across multiple custodial platforms
- Oversee documentation workflows, including the preparation and submission of subscription, redemption, and transfer/re-registration requests
- Monitor and manage the team inbox for capital calls and distributions, ensuring timely tracking and response
- Build and maintain fund trackers to support client service teams and ensure accurate reporting
- Retrieve, review, and organize K-1s and other fund-related documents
- Administer fund portals, including setup of new portals, password vault management, and ongoing maintenance
- Maintain a comprehensive database of private investment funds, including key contacts, required documentation, and procedural updates
- Uphold a strong culture of risk management and controls while meeting all personal, team, and organizational objectives
In addition to these core responsibilities, the Private Investment Specialist will also be involved in supporting key initiatives and campaigns, ad hoc projects, and other efforts at both the advisor team and firm level. It is critical that the Private Investment Specialist be self-motivated, comfortable juggling multiple projects, and eager to foster and deepen relationships in order for Cresset to best serve its clients and continue to grow as successfully as it has since its inception.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 3 years of professional experience required
- Knowledge of trust and legal entity structures
- Knowledge of private equity fund administration and custodial requirements
- Knowledge of private equity investments including document processing, funding, and distribution procedures
- Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage sophisticated, complex, and challenging situations from origination to completion
- Must be a team player willing to contribute to the continual development of the team and overall Cresset Team
- Must be able to perform successfully in a fast-paced, intellectually intense, service-oriented environment and enhance the business in keeping with Cresset’s values and culture
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong ability to learn proprietary and third-party platforms and databases
- Strong passion for delivering exceptional client service
