Lead Advisor is a wealth management consulting and search firm. This role is for a client, an RIA.
Our client is a leading wealth management firm based in San Francisco, CA, managing over $20 billion in client assets. The ideal candidate is a seasoned relationship builder with deep expertise across the full spectrum of advisory services. This is a senior leadership role requiring a strategic mindset, exceptional client instincts, integrity and accountability, as well as a track record of winning and retaining high-net worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients.
Key Responsibilities
§ Proactively establishes and cultivates an active pipeline of $5m+ prospects (who are expected to grow to $10m+) to meet individual and firm-wide growth targets.
§ Owns the full prospect lifecycle – from lead generation and initial engagement through proposal, presentation of our service offerings, and close.
§ Develop and execute a commercial strategy to identify new opportunities, including new business sectors, and/or networks of individuals that would be a good fit with the firm's services and solutions.
§ Collaborate with colleagues to develop compelling marketing materials and other strategies to raise the firm profile to ideal prospects.
§ Provide market feedback to colleagues and Partners on trends influencing client advisor selection.
§ Serve as a brand ambassador in public forums, demonstrating your in-depth expertise, and upholding our high standards of customer service, integrity, and ethics.
§ Cultivate and maintain prospective client relationships through high-touch, white-glove service with regular contact and a deep understanding of client needs and goals.
§ Serve as a subject matter expert across all advisory domains: e.g., Investing strategies: such as standard asset allocation models, index vs active, factors/smart/beta, indices, product types (SMA, MF, ETF), yield curves, investment managers, private investments, etc., Estate Planning, Financial Planning, Philanthropy, Insurance, Tax
§ Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of advisory areas and be able to respond to most technical client inquiries.
§ Coordinate introductions to team members and specialists to showcase the firm's unique value proposition and support acquisition of new clients.
§ Lead client engagements to delivery financial advice and guidance to clients.
§ Remain current on firm policies, procedures, platforms, and relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.
§ Mentor and coach team members as appropriate.
§ Participate in firm initiatives, and special programs and projects as needed.
Qualifications
§ 10+ years at a comparably sized firm, in a business development or wealth advisor role
§ Bachelor’s degree is required – MBA, CFP, CFA, or other relevant advanced degree is a plus
§ Substantive network of high-net-worth clients, ultra-high-net worth clients
§ Applies, maintains, and improves specialized knowledge across the spectrum of wealth advisor domains
§ Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
