Non-Producing Financial Advisor
Location: Staunton, VA and Charlottesville, VA
Compensation: $85,000-$115,000 Annually (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM (Full-time)
Position Overview:
The Non-Producing Financial Advisor is a client-facing, licensed advisor responsible for managing assigned client relationships from start to finish. This role owns the full client experience including planning, implementation, follow-through, and ongoing service while operating within established firm processes, investment models, and compliance standards.
This position requires a strong blend of financial planning knowledge, technology proficiency, execution discipline, and personal accountability. The ideal candidate is organized, coachable, and comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment. They are open to feedback, adaptable to evolving responsibilities and processes, and understand that no task is too small when delivering high-quality client service.
Licenses/Certifications:
• SIE Required provided that an exemption or grandfathering cannot be applied.
• Series 7 required.
• Series 63, 65 and/or 66 as required by state.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management
• Serve as the primary advisor for assigned clients, owning the relationship end-to-end
• Interact daily with clients via phone, email, and virtual or in-person meetings
• Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries, requests, and concerns
• Coordinate with external professionals (CPAs, attorneys, insurance providers) as needed
• Send meeting summaries and ensure follow-through on all action items
Financial Planning & Advisory Support
• Create, update, and maintain personalized financial plans
• Identify planning opportunities including (but not limited to): Roth conversions and IRA strategies, Employer retirement plans and rollovers, 529 education savings, Life insurance needs (term vs. permanent concepts)
• Explain financial concepts clearly, including: Risk tolerance scores, stock-to-bond allocations, long-term return expectations and potential downside risk
Technology & Systems
• Confidently navigate and utilize multiple financial planning and client management platforms, including but not limited to: RightCapital, Holistiplan, Wealth.com
• Use firm systems daily, including: Microsoft Outlook, Wealthbox CRM, Box.com, various custodians’ CRM and back-office platforms
• Training will be provided, but baseline technical proficiency and comfort learning new systems is required
Account Servicing & Operations
• Open, maintain, and service client accounts in compliance with firm and regulatory requirements
• Collect and process client documentation accurately and timely
• Place and follow up on client transactions where registered
• Monitor outstanding items and proactively resolve issues
• Ensure client records, files, and paperwork remain current and compliant
• Assist with operational or administrative tasks when needed—no task is “below the role”
Compliance & Professional Development
• Serve as a compliance liaison, leveraging prior Chief Compliance Officer experience to help communicate compliance standards, updates, and best practices across the team
• Partner with firm leadership and operations to support adherence to compliance requirements and documentation standards
• Maintain all required registrations, licenses, and continuing education
• Adhere to firm policies, procedures, and risk management standards
• Participate in ongoing training, cross-training, and firm initiatives
• Perform additional duties as assigned

• Experience supporting IRA to Roth conversion workflows, including coordination, documentation, and communication across client accounts and internal teams
