The Associate Wealth Advisor position plays an integral role in the success of our firm by supporting our Wealth Advisors and their clients. You will leverage your client service and wealth management expertise by providing customized financial planning, foundational portfolio needs, and complex client service issues.
Primary Duties
- Strategize with Wealth Advisor to ensure client communication is timely and thorough.
- Prepare comprehensive client meeting deliverables, analyze client data, and evaluate potential planning strategies.
- Attend and participate in client meetings; own the execution of post-meeting actions.
- Leverage internal and external resources to achieve client objectives in such areas as Investment Management, Estate Planning, Tax Planning, Risk Management, and General Planning; consider Tax, Investments, and Estate Planning to determine additional levels of detail required for the client's situation.
- Seek out leadership roles in team and firm projects/assignments related to Financial and Estate Planning, and Investments.
- Craft client meeting agendas and determine deliverables to be presented; analyze client data and develop strategies; collaborate with Wealth Advisor to define both the client strategy and the most effective form of presentation.
- Prepare and finalize all standard deliverables related to the delivery of wealth management advice based on input from team members.
- Initiate an update to a client's financial plan based on changing client needs.
- Perform proactive client touchpoints to foster relationships and add value; proactively utilize available technology, tools, and partners.
- Continue to expand knowledge across all areas of financial planning, including cash flow management, investments, insurance, tax strategy, retirement analysis, and estate planning.
- Network with the business community to help increase the firm's visibility.
- Contribute content for ongoing education workshop series, firm newsletters, and blog posts.
- Achieve strong proficiency in relevant technologies including MoneyGuide, Wealth Studios, Tamarac Reporting/Rebalancing/CRM, and Charles Schwab's platform.
Client Experience & Relationship Management
- Assist with the delivery of comprehensive financial planning, including retirement, estate, insurance, charitable, and tax strategy coordination.
- Collaborate with the Portfolio Management Team to align investment strategy with client goals.
- Participate in and contribute to the firm's Investment Committee discussions and initiatives.
- Ensure a consistently exceptional experience through attentive communication, meeting follow-up, and thoughtful service
Growth & Business Development
- Assist the Wealth Advisor with cultivating new client relationships through referrals, community engagement, and networking.
- Begin to develop relationships with Centers of Influence (COIs) and look for opportunities to expand the firm's reach.
- Demonstrate strong business judgment and a growth mindset while stewarding the firm's brand and values.
Technology & Innovation
- Embrace and leverage internal systems (e.g., CRM, planning software, client portal, AI note-taker) to streamline client workflows and improve service delivery.
- Look for opportunities to adopt new tools that enhance efficiency and engagement.
Team Culture & Leadership
- Contribute to a positive, supportive environment that encourages growth and development, both for clients and team members.
- Mentor or coach junior staff when appropriate and actively support the firm's collaborative culture
Qualifications/Skills

- Financial Planning, Wealth Management, or related industry: 2+ years required.
- Experience with MoneyGuide and/or Wealth Studios preferred but not required.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics preferred but not required.
- CFP® or ChFC® designation required.
- Analytical problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree in business/finance required.
Location: 5x a week in office (Arlington, VA area)
Salary: $120k
