Position Summary
The Paraplanner plays an integral role in supporting the firm's financial advisors by preparing comprehensive financial plans, conducting investment and retirement analysis, and ensuring a high-quality client experience. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys financial planning, attention to detail, continuous learning, and working collaboratively within a client-focused advisory team.
The Paraplanner is primarily responsible for the technical aspects of financial planning while allowing advisors to focus on client relationships and business development.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning
- Prepare comprehensive financial plans and recommendations.
- Gather, organize, and analyze client financial information.
- Update existing financial plans as client circumstances change.
- Model retirement, education, cash flow, tax, insurance, and estate planning scenarios.
- Research planning strategies and present recommendations to advisors.
- Assist with investment allocation recommendations consistent with firm philosophy.
Planning Software & Technology
- Maintain accurate client data within the firm's CRM.
- Utilize financial planning software to prepare analyses.
- Generate reports from portfolio management and planning systems.
- Ensure client records remain complete and compliant.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with advisors, client service associates, and operations staff.
- Assist in improving planning processes and workflows.
- Support special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Financial Planning, Business, Economics, or related field.
- 1–5 years of experience in wealth management or financial planning.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred
- CFP® coursework completed or actively pursuing CFP® certification.
- Series 65 license (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience with MoneyGuidePro
- Experience with Wealthbox, Redtail, Salesforce, or similar CRM.
- Experience with Orion, Tamarac, Black Diamond, Addepar, or similar portfolio management systems.
Salary: 100k
Location: 4-5x a week in office
