An award-winning wealth management and financial planning practice in Westport, CT is hiring for an Insurance Operations Associate to execute all daily operations related to insurance applications, onboarding and servicing.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in insurance operations or will be a quick learner with an interest in or exposure to insurance/financial services. They will be a process-driven, detailed-oriented, highly organized individual who thrives in a feedback centric environment. The candidate should be an effective, outgoing, verbal and written communicator who will thrive in a fast-paced, high-demand environment that often has competing priorities and requires a strong procedural approach, strong business and interpersonal intuition and a high degree of organization.
While this current role is part-time (20-30 hours/ week), we anticipate hour expansion to a full time position by the end of 2026. Candidate must be able to work a minimum of 4 days a week and will be looking for a professional role and a long-term commitment.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
· Work with advisors and clients to ensure complete, accurate and timely application completion and submission
· Manage the insurance application and underwriting process, ensuring daily progress for each applicant, which will often require troubleshooting and creative problem solving to overcome roadblocks and proactively manage slowdowns
· Schedule and confirm medical exams for clients
· Collaborate with underwriters to complete application review
· Guide clients through underwriting process, providing weekly updates
· Help the planning team prepare delivery materials
· Understand insurance products, tools and systems, including illustration production and billing account management
· Execute policy-related client service requests (e.g. executing policy loans, updating beneficiary and owner changes)
· Execute billing-related client requests and reconcile accounting issues that may arise
· Proactively deliver world class client service and an unmatched client experience

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree
· Insurance and/or financial services experience preferred
· A quick, curious, and numerically proficient learner
· A confident, professional, effective oral and written communicator
· Analytical strength and confidence with learning complex structured products and detailed billing processes
· Local to the office and able to commit to a regular, reliable in-office schedule M-Th (option to work more hours M-Th or fewer hours M-F). If working M-F, option to work from home Fridays.
