Lead Planner
Our client is a rapidly growing, Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) managing over $1 Billion in Assets Under Management (AUM). They serve approximately 450+ households with a holistic approach that seamlessly integrates high-level wealth management with in-house tax preparation and planning. The Role
We are seeking an experienced Lead Planner to serve as a cornerstone of our advisory team. This is a senior-level position designed for a high-technical-capacity professional who thrives on relationship management and complex problem-solving rather than "hunting" for new business.
The Lead Planner will manage an established client segment while serving as the firm’s primary planning specialist. You will collaborate directly with partners and our in-house tax team to design and evolve a world-class client experience.
Key Responsibilities
Relationship Management & Advisory
- Lead Advisor: Serve as the primary point of contact for an assigned segment of the firm’s clientele, conducting regular reviews and proactively identifying planning opportunities.
- The "Advice Architect": Work alongside Senior Partners to interpret complex data and create sophisticated financial plans covering retirement, estate, and risk management.
Integrated Tax & Planning Strategy
- Tax Integration: Collaborate with our tax department to ensure every financial plan is optimized for tax efficiency (e.g., Roth conversion ladders, tax-loss harvesting, etc).
- Technical Specialist: Act as the firm’s subject matter expert on complex planning scenarios, including retirement planning, stock option analysis, estate flowcharts, and charitable giving strategies.
Firm Leadership & Growth
- Process Innovation: Act as a thought leader in refining the firm’s planning philosophy and "Client Experience" roadmap.
- Mentorship: Guide and review the work of Associate Planners to maintain the firm’s high standards of accuracy and professional delivery.
Qualifications
- Experience: 7+ years of comprehensive financial planning experience, preferably within an RIA or multi-family office environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Credentials: Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation is required (or must be sit-ready within 6 months).
- Technical Savvy: Proficiency in modern planning software (e.g., eMoney, RightCapital, or MoneyGuidePro) and CRM systems (e.g., Redtail, Wealthbox, or Salesforce).
- Soft Skills: Exceptional "EQ" with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into relatable, actionable advice for clients.
